Emilija is a passionate mountaineer and outdoor enthusiast who finds as much joy climbing mountain peaks as navigating the cloud. When she is not conquering cliffs or swimming outdoors, you can find her at SDNit, where her expertise in Cloud Computing and DevOps comes into its own.

A passion for technology and mountain peaks

Emilija's interests range from climbing mountain peaks to designing cloud-based solutions. With a background in Cloud Computing, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, she looks forward to expanding her knowledge to more cloud providers and specialising in security, with DevSecOps roles in her sights.

A more central role for automation

Emilija looks ahead to the coming years in DevOps, aware of the challenges that lie ahead. For her, the key is balancing software delivery speed with quality. She notes that DevOps is evolving towards more specialised roles such as Site Reliability Engineering and Platform Engineering, where automation plays a central role.

“For me, the challenge in DevOps is finding the balance between software delivery speed and quality. Automation is becoming increasingly important to free up time for innovation rather than maintenance.”
